The goal of this flat renovation was to change the overall look to achieve a neutral design inspired by Scandinavian interiors. Fresh and well-lit rooms were a must and we focused our intentions to enhance the beauty of the existing apartment.
The property was in good condition but the style was old fashioned. The client wanted to make the flat her own and we helped her find the best solutions based on her requirements. She wanted to make the most of the flat, and the open plan area was her biggest concern. A small but beautiful space with lots of potential. we saw the opportunity of creating a stunning interior right away.
With the flat renovation, our client wanted to obtain a special home that represented her. We guided the design and proposed different solutions to cover all her requirements and needs.
“A selection of neutral tones, natural textures and accent pieces bring the design to life.”
The interior style was clear from the begining and the design scheme was promtly agreed. The concept design captured the essesence of a practical and fresh space with a combination of neutral tones in contrast with pink accents of colour.
The first time we visited the property we were really excited about the project. The potential of the flat was evident.
The open plan area had a very interesting shape and the gorgeous balcony windows were the star of the space. We wanted to focus the design around these features to enhance them at the same time of maximising the room.
The original design of the kitchen was an L shape without an island. We wanted the kitchen to be a beautiful background for the room and to complement the stunning windows. In order to do so, we decided to create a light design for the kitchen in only one of the walls with an additional island to increment the storage capacity.
“We knew this room was special and we wanted to enhance its features with the design.”
It was crucial that the kitchen looked beautiful and simple as it was an important piece of the open plan design. The wooden shelves in the middle of the high cabinet and the floating shelf with LED were some of the features designed to make the kitchen not only practical but also a visually pleasant part of the room.
The island also had an important practical and aesthetic role. To start with, the practical side was that it created more storage capacity at the same time that allowed a new space to seat and eat.
Regarding the overall look of the room, we wanted to visually divide the living room from the kitchen. The island was the perfect element to do this accompanied by the pendant lamp in the middle of the room.
The pendant lamp and the fireplace were existing focal points that we wanted to keep. With a change of style, they became important accent elements of the design.
It is obvious that the sofa is a big part of the open-plan design. With this flat renovation we wanted to achieve fresh and neutral interiors, but we also wanted to bring warmth and fun into the rooms.
The living room design was in continuity with the kitchen style. The tones of the rug, walls and shelves matched the neutral aesthetic of the kitchen and were coordinated with the elegant and classy marble fireplace.
Adding some contrast and interest into the room, the pink sofa and metal cabinet function as accent elements bringing colour and a young vibe into the flat.
The living room showed the traditional way of having alcove shelves on both sides of the fireplace. However, keeping the shelves simple, having the metallic pink cabinet on one side and the open space on the other, the look is much more fresh and modern.
“The simplicity of the design accentuates the classic features”
The simplicity of this design accentuates, even more, the marble fireplace and its classic features. Combined with more patterned tiles instead of a classic hearth, the fireplace becomes a statement too.
“The neutral colour scheme in contrast with the bold accents of colour make this design stand out“
The original bathroom had a dark colour scheme making the room feel smaller. In small bathroom designs, we like to create a sense of more space using light neutral colours and reflective surfaces or materials.
In this flat renovation, bright rectangular tiles mixed with matt stone tiles enlarged the room at the same time that made the space brighter. The round mirror with the backlight accentuates this feeling too.
The subtle different neutral tones of the rectangular tiles and the stone textures create an interesting and relaxing space full of warmth that is ideal for a bathroom.
The Japanese bathtub accentuates the calming feeling of the design. This small corner has been thought of as a home retreat where the owner can relax.
“The golden features accentuate the overall theme of the flat. “
The golden accents of the fixtures are in contrast with the bright tiles creating interest and an elegant look for the design.
Following the same neutral colour theme of the flat renovation, we planned the design of the bedroom as a simple and practical room to live in.
The client wanted to keep the room minimal and as practical as possible. A low cabinet and a natural clothes rack were enough for her bedroom storage. A small office space was also required in this room. With a bespoke desk matching the cabinet wood and a simple design, this practical corner integrated perfectly well in the room.
In this flat renovation, the light was very important and the feature of this room was on the ceiling. The LED lighting across the edges of the ceiling achieved a really nice mood
“Practicality, bright rooms and a pleasantly aesthetic design were the main goals of this flat renovation .”
